Attendance on the 15th International Nursing Conference and the 28th International Nursing Conference
I attended the 15th International Nursing Conference and the 28th International Nursing Conference on February 13-14, 2025, in Seoul, where I delivered an oral presentation titled "Prevalence and Trends of Coexisting Forms of Malnutrition and Its Associated Factors among Children Aged 6-59 Months in South and Southeast Asia, 1996-2022: A Cross-Sectional Time Series Study". South and Southeast Asia face severe malnutrition among children under five, with coexisting forms of malnutrition further increasing mortality risks. Therefore, this research aimed to assess the prevalence, trends, and associated factors of coexisting forms of malnutrition among children aged 6-59 months across South and Southeast Asian countries and the entire region. In this reseach, we found that the coexistence of undernutrition and/or micronutrient deficiencies in South and Southeast Asia remains a public health problem. Although the prevalence of child coexisting forms of malnutrition has decreased in most countries, it remains higher in Timor-Leste and India. Reducing child coexisting forms of malnutrition requires targeted interventions that account for child living conditions, gender, age, and parental education.
This conference covered 11 topics, including Maternal and Child Health and Acute & Critical Care, allowing me to gain a broader perspective on the latest research and practices in the nursing field and engage with scholars from various nursing specialties. At the same time, I focused particularly on maternal and child health presentations, where I gained deeper insights into the latest advancements and challenges in breastfeeding promotion, preterm infant care, and other maternal and child health interventions. Listening to experts share their findings on neonatal nutrition, maternal support strategies, and policy implementations helped me better understand the complexities of improving neonatal and maternal health outcomes. This experience enriched my knowledge and inspired my research direction, reinforcing my determination to contribute to this field through in-depth exploration and evidence-based interventions.
