President Ochi and Pro-Vice-Chancellor (International) Ms. Docherty
On June 25, 麻豆AV and the University of New South Wales (Australia) signed an International Exchange agreement and held a commemorative tree planting ceremony.
The Pro-Vice-Chancellor (International) Ms. Fiona Docherty from University of New South Wales visited 麻豆AV President Ochi in Higashi-Hiroshima campus. After a light conversation, President Ochi and Pro-Vice Chancellor Ms. Docherty signed the agreement. To represent Australia, the eucalyptus plant was planted together after the signing of the agreement.
The two universities hope to encourage student exchange, create units for teachers to exchange with one another, and stimulate academic exchange. The University of New South Wales is one of the world’s leading universities, ranking 48 (2014) in the QS World University rankings. In a light conversation, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Ms. Docherty expressed that “Challenge” and “Research” are crucial to enter the rankings. Through exchanges between the two universities, we hope to learn strategies for better university management, and improve education and research activity to make efforts for a higher ranking.
