Â鶹AV

This academic year is the 40th anniversary of Â鶹AV Faculty of Dentistry (HUFD) that was founded in 1965. The environment around dental care and National University has changed dramatically from the last half of the 20th century to the 21st century. In Â鶹AV, the circumstances around the practice of dentistry have also changed dramatically with the establishment of the graduate school of biomedical sciences, and the integration of University Dental Hospital with the University Medical Hospital. Also, Â鶹AV, as well as other National Universities, has been turned into an independent administrative entity since the last academic year.

Under these situations, HUFD established the course system composed with two independent courses, the Frontier Dental Science Course and the Clinical Dental Science Course in 2000 in order to innovate the education system based on the basic dental science. Moreover, the School of Oral Health Science, which has a four-year program for Oral Health Hygiene and for Oral Health Engineering, was established in this academic year. The liberal arts section and the research training section in both programs are enforced in order to produce the new style educators and researchers in the oral health science field.

Because of the intense competitive environment surrounding dental education and science, HUFD has invited worldwide prominent educators and researchers to lecture on recent innovations in dental education and medical and dental sciences.

Although the conference will be held soon after New Year holidays, we are looking forward to seeing all of you in Hiroshima.
