Overview
In response to the G7 Hiroshima Summit (May 17-21, 2023), will hold the University Panel Symposium on Planetary Health, “Planetary Health for a Sustainable Global Environment: Open Up the Future by Interdisciplinary Research.” This symposium aims to develop an educational and research network foundation that will increase the momentum in the Asian region for putting into practice planetary health, which comprehensively captures the health of humans, social systems, and ecosystems. Specifically, based on the recommendations for the G7 Hiroshima Summit compiled by the Health and Global Policy Institute in November, we will discuss the role of universities in planetary health. For increasing the resolution of global issues, we will particularly focus on the topic of how we should collaborate in the implementation of interdisciplinary research in the fields of health science, science, and engineering ranging from the ecological environment to the social environment. We will Invite experts from universities leading planetary health in different disciplines.

Antoni Plasència Taradach, Director General of the Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal)
Antoni Plasència Taradach is the Director General of the Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal) since October 2014. He is also Medical Consultant at the Department of International Health of the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona and an Associated Professor at the University of Barcelona.
