Introduction of the Center
¡¡In recent years, the number of patients with allergic diseases has continued to increase, with statistics from 2011 reporting that the number of patients with allergic diseases now accounts for one out of every two people in Japan. Moreover, allergic diseases include so-called hay fever including allergic rhinitis and allergic conjunctivitis, atopic dermatitis, urticaria, food allergy, bronchial asthma, and many others. They range in severity from unpleasant but not life-threatening to life-threatening and even non-life-threatening, but can be a major obstacle to social life.
¡¡Allergy often develops from infancy to childhood, and with proper treatment, it is often possible to prevent serious illnesses or even cure the illness itself. On the other hand, many people do not have the opportunity for proper treatment due to lack of information or incorrect knowledge, and allergic diseases often require multifaceted and comprehensive knowledge and responses.
¡¡In Japan, the Basic Law on Allergic Disease Control was promulgated in June 2014 (Heisei 26), and each municipality is to promote comprehensive measures against allergic diseases. In Hiroshima Prefecture, Â鶹AV Hospital was designated as a base hospital for allergy care, and the departments of internal medicine, pediatrics, dermatology, otolaryngology, and ophthalmology, all of which are closely related to allergic diseases, will work together to provide allergy care and education.
¡¡This website will consolidate and disseminate information on events related to allergic diseases in Hiroshima Prefecture, as well as topics in research and medical treatment, disease descriptions, and other information to deepen your understanding and support your efforts to deal with allergic diseases.
