Application Guideline (EJEP)

Those who wish to request an initial acceptance letter for EJEP (Undergraduate)

Egyptian students who wish to study at Âé¶¹AV as a semester students and apply for EJEP (Egypt-Japan Education Partnership) Scholarship to CDM* should follow the steps below to request an initial acceptance letter.

*CDM: The Central Department of Missions at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Egypt

 

Before Applying

1. Please read the terms and conditions of the EJEP Call Announcement for Undergraduate Students carefully before applying.

2. Check the following eligibility requirements:

  • Applicants must be enrolled in an undergraduate program at a university that has an agreement with Âé¶¹AV(HU). Partner List
  • Applicants must have a good academic record.
  • Applicants must have sufficient English or Japanese language proficiency to be able to comprehend classes, give presentations, write reports and take examinations.
  • Requirements for each school are as follows:
    • School of Engineering
      ?Third-year students are eligible to apply.
      ?The courses of Cluster 1 and Cluster 2 are available to take. 
      ?Cluster 1 consist of ¡°Program of Mechanical Systems Engineering¡±, ¡°Program of Transportation Systems¡±, ¡°Program of Material Processing¡± and ¡°Program of Energy Transform Engineering¡±.
      ?Cluster 2 consists of ¡°Program of Electrical, Systems and Information Engineering¡±, ¡°Program of Electronic Devices and Systems¡±.
      ?Please refer to the following URL for more information on these Clusters.

      ?Not all of the requested courses may be available.
      ?The deadline for submitting application documents for the initial acceptance letter via the International Admissions Assistant System will be set approximately three weeks before the CDM deadline.
    • School of Informatics and Data Science
      ?Third-year students are eligible to apply.
      ?Not all of the requested courses may be available.
      ?The deadline for submitting application documents for the initial acceptance letter via the International Admissions Assistant System will be set three weeks before the CDM deadline.
    • School of Letters
      ?Japanese language proficiency required to take classes (N2 or equivalent or higher required). 
      ?Students need taking courses in the School of Letters.
    • School of Education
      ?In principle, students can take courses in the Multicultural and Global Education Program.
      ?Acceptable after receiving informal consent from the host faculty member by the deadline specified in the Âé¶¹AV Student Exchange Regulations, submitting the documents required for the application procedure, and obtaining permission from Âé¶¹AV. 
      ?English language proficiency required to take classes in case.
    • School of Science
      ?Since the School of Science does not have sufficient classes actively conducted in English, we would like to consider the acceptance by the actual request.
    • School of Dentistry
  • The following schools are not accepting applications:
    • School of Applied Biological Science

3. Apply at your home university to issue necessary documents

4. Notes:

  • Students' status at HU will be ¡°SPECIAL AUDITING STUDENTS¡± who are eligible to register for university courses for credit.
  • Students who need to transfer credits from Âé¶¹AV should contact their home university for procedures.

*CoE is required to apply for a student-visa at a Japanese diplomatic mission in the applicant¡¯s country; Admitted students are responsible for the cost incurred for the visa application.

Applicants are required to complete online application form and submit application documents through International Admissions Assistant System ().

Please refer to the Âé¶¹AV Syllabus to decide which classes to take.

2. Certificate of Student Registration Issued by applicants' home university
3. Official Academic Transcript Issued by applicants' home university
Explanation of grading system and GPA must be attached
4. Letter of Recommendation Must be signed and completed by professor/lecturer who has taught the applicant in an academic course at his/her home institution
5. Proof of Language Proficiency (English or Japanese) For non-native English speakers only

6. Photo copy of Passport Must be valid through the end of exchange period
7.  Photo data (for HU student registration) JPEG format (must be taken within 6 month, passport sized, color, clear, sharp and in focus)
