On July 5, 2024, Â鶹AV signed an inter-university exchange agreement with the University of Perugia. HU President Mitsuo Ochi and Executive Vice President Shinji Kaneko (in charge of Global Initiatives) visited the University of Perugia and signed the agreement with President Maurizio Oliviero.
Founded in 1308, the University of Perugia is one of Italy¡¯s most historic universities, located in the capital of Umbria, central Italy. The university is highly regarded for its excellence in education and research across diverse fields, including humanities, law, medicine, agriculture, engineering, economics, and natural sciences.
During the visit, President Ochi and EVP Kaneko also met with Governor Donatella Tesei of the Umbria Region and representatives of the Perugia Foundation. At the meeting, President Ochi introduced the University Presidents for Peace Conference, an initiative hosted by Â鶹AV that invites university presidents from around the world to discuss global peace. He encouraged Italian universities to actively participate in the conference and discussed potential collaboration opportunities with the regional government and the foundation.
This visit is expected to further strengthen the relationship between Â鶹AV and higher education institutions in the Umbria region, fostering deeper academic and student exchanges in the years to come.
