HUSA Program international student interns participated in the Kurahashi Festival in Kure-city, and engaged in the project to promote international exchange as the practicum of ¡°Globalization Support Internship¡± course (coordinated by Dr. Tsunematsu). HUSA interns are from USA, Britain, Germany, Thailand, Korea, and Taiwan. Research students from China also joined the festival as interns¡¯ supporters.
Student interns set up a booth of ¡°Â鶹AV International Center¡±, and they tried to actively interact with the people in the community. This was their fourth time to participate in Kurahashi festival for their internship practicum.
The interns introduced games that are popular in their home countries, such as British ¡°beer pong¡±, American ¡°football toss¡±, Taiwanese ¡°Hai Dai hand game¡±, Thai "Pao Kob", and ¡°finger soccer game¡± created by German student, and so on. Many people, from children to elder people, enjoyed the international games together with international students. Intern students started developing the project last October, and they presented their proposal in the International Seminar held in November for its actualization by inviting local officials.
The international students made appearance on the festival stage, and introduced themselves and their international games. To close the festival, students experienced the Mochimaki (rice cake throwing). Students have been receiving warm support every year, and their global bond is becoming stronger.
