Ceremony at the Higashi-Hiroshima Sports Park
HU held its 2020 Commencement Ceremony on Tuesday, March 23, 2021.
To halt the spread of COVID-19, the ceremony was divided into two sessions: one in the morning for undergraduate and advanced course students (venue: Higashi-Hiroshima Sports Park), and the other in the afternoon for graduate students (venue: Satake Memorial Hall, Higashi-Hiroshima Campus). Only graduating students participated in the ceremony. The event was live-streamed on YouTube.
In the afternoon, each School organized a diploma-awarding ceremony for the 3,750 new graduates (2,436 undergraduate students and 1,314 graduate students).

"In your journey across the seas, there may be times when you are hit by a storm, or you lose your sense of direction. [...] At such times, I am convinced that if you keep thinking with your minds while using history as a guide, you will surely find a way through,¡± said President Ochi.
Yunita Anugerah Pritawati ¡ª the international students' representative ¡ª from the School of Engineering offered a speech congratulating all fellow graduates and sharing her life experience as an Indonesian international student at HU.
"The experience of studying abroad at Â鶹AV is my life treasure. I will do my best in my future workplace and never forget the relationships with professors, friends, and locals."
