On June 16 & 23, 2021, Â鶹AV Study Abroad (HUSA) Program students, and graduate students taking ¡°Intercultural Understanding: Social Theories and Practice,¡± participated in Online Â鶹AV Open Lecture ¡°Connecting Global Society, University, and Local Society ~Preparing Yourself for Intercultural Contact~¡± (Dr. Naomi Tsunematsu). Mr. Jack Barry, a HUSA Program exchange student from Cardiff University in UK and Ms Madelyn Hunzelman, a HUSA Program exchange student from USAC in USA joined the lecture. They contributed their intercultural challenges under the Covid-19 and their views on cultural differences in courtesy. In online open lecture participants shared various kinds of intercultural experiences. The lecture became a place where participants shared their stories of intercultural communication and culture shock, and examined together the development of intercultural understanding, hearing international students¡¯ live voices on their experiences in study abroad. We will continue to enhance intercultural understanding by connecting local people, international students, and students on campus.
