Â鶹AV has been selected for the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology's (MEXT) ¡°Open Access Acceleration Project.¡±
This project aims to enhance the dissemination and sharing of Japan's research results both domestically and internationally by improving and strengthening the systems for publishing research papers at universities and research institutions. For context, there is a growing trend of enhancing openness for research papers and data ¡ª collectively known as ¡°open science¡± ¡ª primarily in the United States and Europe. This project responds to this trend of open science. On the other hand, open access to research papers generates problems such as rising publication fees and embargo periods imposed by academic journals. As research activities become more globalized, addressing the above issues has become an urgent issue in Japan as well. This project also aims to address various issues that accompany open access.
Â鶹AV has been selected as one of the groups publishing the largest number of papers among all national, public, and private universities and inter-university research institute corporations nationwide (top 15 institution; the only one in Chugoku and Shikoku regions) and is expected to lead the way in open science in Japan.
