School of Integrated Arts and Sciences students showcase the present-day Fukushima at Homecoming Day

On November 2, during the Homecoming Day product exhibition, students from the School of Integrated Arts and Sciences and the School of Law collaborated with officials from the Fukushima Prefectural Government to present posters introducing the current state of Fukushima.

These students had participated in the "Fukushima Study Tour" in August, where they visited areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake, observed the progress of reconstruction, explored Fukushima's attractions, and learned about initiatives aimed at making the prefecture a hub for the "Robot Industry Revolution."

The students shared various impressions from their experience: they saw both recovery and new industrial development progressing simultaneously, which gave them a futuristic image of Fukushima; they realized the importance of seeing and hearing firsthand about the disaster and recovery efforts; they gained a deeper understanding of the strong determination behind Fukushima's reconstruction, which isn't always visible from the outside; and they found that Fukushima is a place where visitors can engage their senses, with delicious food and interactive experiences.

At Homecoming Day, the students presented their insights through posters and quizzes, making the information accessible to visitors. They also incorporated creative ideas, such as using social media hashtags, to further engage their audience.
