On January 9, 2025, we connected �鶹AV's (HU) Higashihiroshima Campus and Kasumi Campus via a teleconferencing system and held the Awards for Excellence for reports on the theme "My Approach to Peace."

Among the 2,640 peace reports in the 2023 academic year, 14 students were recognized for their outstanding submissions. During the ceremony, eight of the awardees attended in person and received certificates and commemorative gifts (HU original hoodies) from President Ochi.

As a university established in Hiroshima, a city that experienced the atomic bombing, HU upholds "The Pursuit of Peace" as one of its five guiding principles. The university aims to foster a deep sense of humanity by encouraging students to continuously reflect on the concept of peace. All students are required to take Peace Science Courses, visit peace-related monuments such as the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, and watch films related to peace before writing their reports as a common academic assignment.
