What are some strategies to write about other people¡¯s ideas in your paper? This presentation will explore academic English writing for the various ways that writers reference and build on prior knowledge. This workshop will teach you the essential skills of rewording other writers¡¯ ideas or quoting them in your academic paper, while also emphasizing the importance of giving credit through proper citations. This workshop is appropriate for graduate students and faculty who want to know about the specific expectations in academic English writing for four important skills ¨C paraphrasing, summarizing, quoting and citing other people¡¯s work in a meaningful and ethical manner.
