We have begun recruiting students for the above two joint degree programs. The information and application procedure of the First Screening for the joint degree programs with the University of Graz and Leipzig University will be found on the website of the ¡°Joint International Master¡¯s Programme in Sustainable Development¡±, developed by the consortium consisting of Â鶹AV, University of Graz, Leipzig University, Ca¡¯ Forcari University of Venice (Italy), Utrecht University (Netherlands), etc. 

Prospective applicants should visit the website and apply online.

The application deadline for the First Screening is March 15, 2024, Friday, CET (Central European Time).

Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:
?A bachelor¡¯s degree or an equivalent degree worth a minimum of 180 ECTS credits (See Note.)

Note: According to the regulations of ¡°School Education Law¡± of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) of Japan, all applicants, including students who choose University of Graz or Leipzig University as their entrance (home) university must meet one of the following requirements. (¡ù). 
¡¾¡ùAdmission Requirements (±Ê¶Ù¹ó)¡¿

?Applicants must submit scores from the IELTS, TOEFL, or Cambridge EFL and meet the English proficiency requirements defined below if their native language is not English and they do not have a bachelor¡¯s or master¡¯s degree from a program taught in English. 
*The English language certificate must be no more than 2 years old from the deadline of application in May,2024.

(¡ù)English language proficiency requirements
?IELTS Academic ¨C 6.5 overall or above (with a minimum score of 6.0 in writing)
?TOELF iBT ¨C 93 or above (PBT-580 or above, CBT-237 or above)
?Cambridge EFL (English as a Foreign Language)¡¡
Candidates should have one of the following two certificates:
-Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (minimum 180 points);
-Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (minimum score C1).
 

¡¾First Screening¡¿

?Joint implementation with the consortium university
?The first screening will be conducted online, on the basis of the following application documents:

Curriculum Vitae, Academic Transcript (Bachelor¡¯s), Certificate of Degree Awarded, Recommendation Letter, Personal Statement Letter,

¡ùApplicants whose mother tongue is not English are required to submit one of the following documents:

An official certificate certifying that the applicant has completed a bachelor¡¯s or master¡¯s degree program taught in English 
An English proficiency certificate such as IELTS, TOEFL or Cambridge EFL.

?Applicants will be assessed on the basis of the following criteria: bachelor¡¯s degree (or equivalent), GPA, professional and academic career, personal statement of purpose, and letter(s) of recommendation

¡¾Second Screening¡¿
?The second screening will be conducted by the home (entrance) university.¡¡
?For an applicant who has passed the first screening, the home (entrance) university will conduct the second screening according to their selection process.

Application document screening (including research proposal), together with an online interview examination.

¡ùJoint International Master's Programme in Sustainable Development (Â鶹AV - Leipzig University) : Basic knowledge relating to Environmental Systems Studies and Environmental Engineering

?All application documents submitted must be originals.

Students will be admitted in October and study for one year at the partner university abroad during the two-year course of study. Based on which university that students choose as their entrance (home) university, the students are scheduled to enroll in classes at the location as shown below. 

Joint International Master¡¯s Programme in Sustainable Development (Â鶹AV- University of Graz)

Students who possess ability to conduct research and engage in practice based on the fundamental principles of international cooperation in development studies through social science approaches, in order to resolve the pressing regional and global issues related to the SDGs, especially the issues of poverty reduction, and those who have excellent collaboration and communication skills and exhibit competitive capability for employment in the international labor market of universities, research institutions, governments and international organizations,  private sectors, and NGO, etc. 

Joint International Master¡¯s Degree Programme in Sustainable Development (Â鶹AV ¨C Leipzig University)

Students who possess ability to conduct research and engage in practice based on the fundamental principles of sustainable development in environmental studies, through   science and engineering approaches, in order to resolve the pressing regional and global issues related to the SDGs, especially the environmentally-driven development issues caused by the rapid urbanization of developing countries, and those who have excellent collaboration and communication skills and exhibit competitive capability for employment in the international labor market of universities, research institutions, governments and international organizations, private sectors, and NGO, etc.
