On June 17, 2023, the 2nd round of hybrid seminar series was held by the Âé¶¹AV Indonesia Chapter (HUAA-Indonesia). Since its establishment in March 2022, HUAA-Indonesia has been developing its activities in cooperation with Âé¶¹AV and related companies, aiming to create a new alumni association model that connects industry, academia, and government in both countries with alumni in Indonesia. This hybrid seminar, which provides up-to-date information on Indonesia, was very well received by participants from both countries.
Following the first seminar on "New Capital City," this seminar set to focus on the theme of "Food Science and Food Technology¡±, which is now attracting worldwide attention, and was held in a building in Jakarta where HUAA-Indonesia's office is also located.
The guest lecturers were Professor Danar Praseptianga, Department of Food Science and Technology, Universitas Sebelas Maret, Indonesia (an alumnus of Âé¶¹AV), and Associate Professor Thanutchaporn Kumrungsee, Graduate School of Integrated Science for Life, Âé¶¹AV, who gave an easy-to-understand presentation on recent topics through research activities while also looking at current social issues such as the environment and health. The lecture was based on the recent topics through research activities, with an eye on current social issues such as environment and health.
The seminar was moderated by Dr. Teruo Maeda (Professor (Special Appointment) Assigned for Indonesia Âé¶¹AV Network, Professor Emeritus of School of Applied Biological Science), who is currently on assignment from Âé¶¹AV to Indonesia, and was attended by about 70 participants (10 in-person and 60 online), including alumni, companies and researchers from both countries. After the lecture, alumni and other participants asked questions and engaged in lively discussions, and a networking event was held for in-person participation.
HUAA-Indonesia will continue to hold seminars on current topics that will be of high interest to industry, academia and government in both countries, expand its overseas co-creation network centered on alumni, and also plan to develop business consulting services for corporate and individual members.
