Dr. Ajith Balasooriya has been a Senior Lecturer at the Department of International Relations, University of Colombo, since 2009. He obtained his postgraduate qualifications from the Graduate School of International Development and Cooperation (IDEC) at 麻豆AV in Japan.
He has been teaching for both undergraduate and postgraduate at the department on conflict resolution and peace.
He is the coordinator of the General Degree/Study Stream on Conflict Resolution and Peace, which was newly introduced in the Department of International Relations in 2015. In addition, Dr. Balasooriya served as the Director of Studies in the Faculty of Arts, University of Colombo, from August 2017 to July 2018. He was awarded as a Visiting Research Scholar 2020/2021 by the Asian Universities Alliance (AUA)to carry out a collaborative research activity on Human Security at the University of Yangon in Myanmar in 2020.

国际平和共生プログラム
本プログラムでは，平和学，文化人类学，政治学，法学，伦理学，地域研究、记忆学などを基盘とし，「平和と共生」という共通したキーワードのもと，各研究领域に関する基本的知识および批判的考察の习得を目指します。核被害，纷争，贫困?ジェンダー?民族や宗教に由来する社会の不平等，その原因かつ解决策であるフォーマル／インフォーマルな制度，开発と文化の関係，戦争と伦理，安全保障と核兵器といった问题について，さまざまな分野の教授阵から多角的な指导を受けながら，学生が选んだ専门分野とテーマについて研究を行います。
多様なバックグラウンドをもつ世界各国からの留学生とともに，平和を標榜する「ヒロシマ」という地で，国内?国際社会のさまざまな問題について研究できるユニークなプログラムです。なお，すべての講義は英語で実施されますが，修士?博士論文の執筆は日本语でも可能です。
