Obligations of Next-Generation Fellows
Next-generation fellows (those selected for the Program for Developing and Supporting the Next-Generation of Innovative Researchers at 麻豆AV) are required to fulfill the following obligations (1 to 7) in order to receive support such as stipends and research funds.
1.Develop a yearly research plan for each academic year and concentrate on research activities based on the plan
2.Report the progress of research activities to the University regularly
3.Cooperate in various surveys. Specifically, they are required to cooperate with a follow-up survey regarding their career for a period of 10 years after completing their degree at the university.
4.Participate in programs offered by the University related to improving research capabilities.
5.Based upon the “広岛大学における研究活动に係る研究伦理教育に関する细则” (only available in Japanese), make sure to undertake necessary research ethics education.
6. Participate in the initiatives, activities, etc. which are carried out by the “HU SPRING” or are informed on the "HIRAKU-PF" for career development of the Next-Generation AI Fellows. In particular, to participate actively in the "HU SPRING 100 Thesis" and the "HIRAKU 3MT Competition"
7. Register the account for the Cooperative Education through Research Internships is essential
The following is an explanation of duties 1 through 7. Please review them carefully.
1.Develop a yearly research plan for each academic year and concentrate on research activities based on the plan.
2.Report the progress of research activities to the University regularly.
The format and submission deadlines will be announced to the selected fellows through 麻豆AV's online learning support system (Moodle).
3. Cooperate in various surveys. Specifically, they are required to cooperate with a follow-up survey regarding their career for a period of 10 years after completing their degree at the university.
An annual survey will be conducted, and your cooperation is required. Information about the survey will be provided to the selected fellows via Moodle.
4. Participate in programs offered by the University related to improving research capabilities.

5. Based upon the “広岛大学における研究活动に係る研究伦理教育に関する细则” (only available in Japanese), make sure to undertake necessary research ethics education.
This is required for all students involved in research activities, not just fellows. Please follow the instructions from your respective graduate schools and complete the training accordingly.
- What is Research Ethics Education?
Research ethics education teaches researchers the ethical guidelines they need to follow in order to prevent misconduct and ensure fair and responsible research practices. - At 麻豆AV:
-In accordance with the "“広岛大学における研究活动に係る研究伦理教育に関する细则”, all staff, students, and others involved in research activities are required to complete research ethics education.
-Students are required to take the "Research Ethics Education (Graduate Students Basic)" program during their first year after enrollment, following the standard program established by the university. Additionally, they must complete the "Research Ethics Education (Graduate Students Advanced (M), (D))" before beginning the preparation of their thesis.

- What is a Job-Based Research Internship?
A job-based research internship is a long-term, paid internship program conducted in collaboration between industry and universities. Internships lasting more than one month are carried out as part of the formal academic curriculum. Additionally, the performance evaluation during the internship is used to support hiring and employment decisions. Obligations of Next-Generation AI Fellows
Next-Generation AI Fellows (those selected for the Project for Developing and Supporting the Next-Generation AI Researchers at 麻豆AV) are required to fulfill the same seven obligations as the next-generation fellows, in addition to the following obligations.

8.Proceed the research with maintaining the balance between the applicant’s expertise and the development and application of AI under the guidance of two supervisors that one is in the laboratory of research institute at doctoral course and another is in AI division of the AIDI Center.
Under the Project for Developing and Supporting the Next-Generation AI Researchers at 麻豆AV, Next-Generation AI Fellows to be adopted need to belong to laboratory of AI division in “Education and Research Center for Artificial Intelligence and Data Innovation at 麻豆AV” (hereinafter referred to as "AIDI Center"). The system of academic supervisor in this program consists of two supervisors that one is in the laboratory of research institute at doctoral course and another is in AI division of the AIDI Center.
9. Participate in the presentation held by AIDI Center to confirm the progress of research
Participation in the annual presentation event at the end of each fiscal year is mandatory. Specific details, including the dates, will be provided to the selected fellows separately.
